What about books?
I sold my books of “Enterprise attitude” in very low prices. Those books were the one of Iacocca, The 7 habits of High Efficiently People (and one of CRYON). Of course I never bought ‘Who stole my Cheese?’ (Jesus Christ!), I kind of read it though.
I bought beers with the money that I got. Yes, I know, it doesn’t sound cultural, but I don’t really appreciate those books, why?
Because they turn my spirit off to read and I believe that reading makes you feel your spirit high, or raises your knowledge, because literature is an artistic expression or to learn science and the content of those books is like to be proactive, be cool, how to negotiate, and stuff like that. Actually, I don’t believe you can learn these skills from reading those books; I can be proactive, be cool and I kind of know negotiate, but these skills are natural or experience’s effect.
So, in short, I had a financial loss, I did not recover the money that I spent, however I got my will to read back, like the series of The Teachings of Don Juan from Carlos Castaneda, which are totally opposite to the “business attitude”. Sometimes you lose money but you can increase your spirit, which is what I do care.
